2K Sports will apparently only release NBA 2K18 digitally on the Switch eShop when it launches on September 19th. The physical version of the game will be released sometime in the Fall.

That’s according to their official release schedule. Which also revealed that WWE 2K18 will be released on the Switch sometime after the Xbox One and PS4 version hit the stores.

No reason was given for either delays, but it’s likely that the developers need more time to get familiar with the Switch development.

Not releasing a physical version of NBA 2K18 means that they have a longer time to work on the game, as it doesn’t have to be finished weeks before launch in order to manufacture the cartridges.
