Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski had some great things to say about the Nintendo Switch in a recent interview. He priased the console as a “brilliant concept”, but couldn’t commit to releasing his new game, Lawbreakers, on the Switch.
“It is a fine console, the Switch, the entire concept of it is just brilliant. Nintendo just really knocked it out of the park with this one.” he told GameSpot.
However, he wasn’t sure about bringing his new game, Lawbreakers, to the Switch. He wondered what the game would look like on the new console.
“If we were to do the Switch, would it be like a rocket arena, 1v1 with nearby people or something like that? I don’t know. But if we were to do it, we’d want to switch the game up in a fun and interesting way, that would make itself work with the portability aspect of the console.”
Lawbreakers is a 5v5 arena shooter that was released earlier this year through his new studio, Boss Key. The game has not done well so far — player numbers have been disappointing, to say the least.
This month the game is averaging a paltry 30 players on average on Steam (thirty). By comparison, Counter-Strike averages over 250,000 daily players.
Looks like the game could use all the platforms it can be on, including the Switch.
