Fortnite Battle Royale Season 5 kicks off with a huge, eight-week Summer Skirmish tournament.
Fortnite Battle Royale is about to get an incredible eSports tournament opportunity with the announcement of a new Summer Skirmish series. Epic’s Summer Skirmish comes with a prize pool of $US8 million in prizes across eight weeks of competition.
Fortnite Battle Royale‘s Summer Skirmish kicks off this weekend with a $US250,000 “Duos” bout this weekend. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be open to just anyone who fancies dipping their toes in. Epic Games are only inviting “community creators” – i.e. streamers – and skilled players to the first round. Invites have already been sent out, but there should be more open events going forward but you may still have to wait for space.
Fortnite Battle Royale‘s Summer Skirmish comes along right after the start of Fortnite Season 5 – which launches 12 July. Summer Skirmish is designed to lock people in and kick things off with a bang.
Fortnite Season 5 will, obviously, bring new weapons, gameplay experiences and skins to your fights, but now you have a monetary reason to jump right back in.
